Once a sleepy beachside town, Mooloolaba has now blossomed into an Australian holiday hotspot. Centrally located in the beautiful Queensland region of the Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba provides shimmering white sand, the bluest ocean and many of Queensland's famous attractions.
In Mooloolaba, the action is all along the shore. You can’t leave here without diving into the ocean or walking the Mooloolaba esplanade. For plenty of jaw-dropping swimming spots, walk or cycle along the esplanade before reaching the Mooloolaba Spit. Blow up your inflatable pineapple and float away your worries in the calm, clear water.
A landmark at the heart of one of Queensland’s most beautiful locations. The Wharf Mooloolaba is a unique location that’s quintessentially Australian. With the picturesque Mooloolah River and Marina as its backdrop and a variety of entertainment and dining experiences available, it is the perfect setting for you to connect, create and celebrate life’s simple pleasures.
The newly refurbished Wharf Mooloolaba offers locals and visitors an escape from the everyday, a chance to immerse yourself in the Sunshine Coast lifestyle and seaside culture. Boasting retail, food and drink, entertainment, adventure and education services, theres something for everyone. Take a stroll through the marina and along the Mooloolah river and sit down for a bite to eat, or perhaps if youre feeling adventurous book a scuba experience, hire a jet ski or plan a fishing tour or whale watch cruise.
Coolum has an impressive surf club culture, with lifesavers first patrolling the pristine waters of this laidback coastal town way back in 1919. It’s also the home break of pro surfer Julian Wilson (so you know the waves are going to be fab).
Nestled comfortably near the shores of Marcoola and Peregian, Coolum is fringed by grassy beachfronts, parks, and an idyllic ocean backdrop. If you’re in the mood for beachside strolls, sunrise hikes and some adrenaline-fuelled fun (how does water-skiing at Oz Ski Resort sound?), then Coolum is the spot for you.
Mount Coolum is an awe-inspiring volcanic dome that presides over the Sunshine Coast landscape. Climbing to the top of this ancient laccolith is a must-do when visiting the region: the views from the top are spectacular!
On the Sunshine Coast of QLD Australia is Mount Coolum. This is an isolated volcanic dome that is nestled in Mount Coolum National Park. Few sights are as breathtaking as the scenery along the walking trail and at the crown. After a person reaches the 208 metre summit, he or she will agree that it was worth the effort to view the spectacular overlook.
Kings Beach has a festive atmosphere year-round, so whenever you visit, you’ll be assured of plenty of fun in the golden sunshine.
Between the enchanting rockpools, the child-friendly water fountain with its time-delayed surprise spurts of water, the oceanfront saltwater swimming pool, and the gentle beach break with protected swimming areas, a Kings Beach holiday is totally exhilarating. Everything you need is just a few minutes’ walk away, so you can unpack your bags and never set foot in a car until the day you leave.
Kids will love the time-delay fountain and saltwater pool at Kings Beach.
From watching the waves fizz onto the rocks while floating in the Sunshine Coast’s only ocean pool, to listening to peals of laughter as kids run through the beachside fountain - a Kings Beach holiday is good for the soul.
With everything you need just a few minutes’ walk away, you can unpack your bags and never set foot in the car until the day you leave. Start your day with a cuppa from Coffee Cat on Kings Beach, stroll the coastal path and go for a blissful dip in the gentle wave break. Scope out the vibrant street art that covers Kings Beach Bathing Pavilion (part of the Caloundra Mural Trail) and finish it off with sundowners and fresh fish tacos at Kings Beach Bar - where you’ll score a front row seat to a stunning sunset. This special spot is holiday vibes personified.
Dicky Beach Skatepark in Queensland’s Sunny Coast is an old rough concrete skatepark with a few street features along with a bowl and mini ramp. Although the skatepark is showing its age with course concrete far from being fast, you can still find sections worth the skate. The actual design of the skateboard park is relatively contemporary, and it is hard to determine what is new and what has been added to over the years. Located next to the beach, Dicky Beach Skatepark is worth a roll. However, there are so many other awesome parks in the area that we would be surprised if you decide to skate it for very long.
Grinds on pool coping mixed over breaking waves is the new soundtrack for this legendary beach spot. The skatepark’s design was decided by a popular vote in a community survey in 2019 and it doesn’t disappoint - there’s something for all levels and styles of skaters. We checked in on Sunday afternoon where skaters, roller skaters, families and friends brought the new skatepark to life.
An easy neighborhood walk along the pathways of Maroochy Waters - this circuit loops you past three scenic park areas and the Maroochy Waters canal.
Nestled alongside the banks of the Maroochy River, Maroochy Waters is a quiet haven of waterways within a short distance of the Maroochy CBD.
It’s an area that offers a mixture of houses – from large, new waterfront homes, to older brick and tile homes and townhouse developments.
Propertytoday’s Jamie Holbrook said the area held properties ranging in price from $400,000 to about $1m.
The area’s affinity with the water has been a major player in its popularity.
